4kW Martin Audio Wavefront System (W8C/WSX)

The 4kW W8 system is suitable for a complete band in medium sized venues (from 500 to 1000 capacity*). Hire cost is from £800.00 + VAT per day (see our prices page for details).

The W8C/WSX systems are fully horn-loaded, substantially increasing output and improving directional control. In terms of volume (dB SPL), the 4kW Wavefront system is equivalent to six 3kW F12 systems.

In addition to equipment specified on the Full Systems page, the 4kW Wavefront system includes:

• Four Martin Audio W8C

Three-way active enclosures.

• Four Martin Audio WSX

18" horn-loaded bass cabinets.

These speakers are awesome, which is why they are among the most commonly used professional touring speakers in the UK today.

We include enough cable to cross a 20-metre stage.

• A dedicated amplifier rack, containing

2 x Martin Audio MX5 controllers

2 x Crown MA2400 amplifiers (High/Mid)

2 x Crown MA3600 amplifier (Low-Mid/ Bass)

• Six Martin Audio Blackline F10 monitors

*Extra monitors are available on request (see our prices page for details)

• Two QSC PLX1804 amplifiers

Each amplifier provides 2 x 550W (8Ω) or 2 x 800W (4Ω).

• Two dbx 1231s

2 x 31-band stereo graphic equalisers (3U each).

*Assuming a distance of 70m from front of stage to the back of the audience, a 4 kW Wavefront system will produce a peak sound pressure level of approximately 110dB SPL in the mid-audience (35m) position of an open-air concert. Higher levels apply to indoor events.
