Unmanned Hire of PA Equipment

Anything we supply as part of a package can be hired on its own. We can also deliver it, if you need it delivered (the fee for this is negotiable). We can provide:

Microphones

We have a range of dynamic and condenser mics suitable for most live applications. We can also supply cables and stands.

Mixers/Consoles

We can supply flightcased Allen & Heath mixers, from 12-channel to 32-channel. We also have a range of multicore cables.

Processors & Effects Units

This section includes graphic and parametric equalisers, compressors and noise gates, enhancers and multi-effects units. It also covers other rack-mountable equipment (including rack lights and CD or minidisc players), and ancillary hardware: we have a range of insert and send/return looms, and individual balanced and unbalanced patch cables, as well as 19" flightcases (from 4U to 12U).

Amplifiers

We can supply QSC and Crown amplifiers, ranging from 450w/channel to 1,565w/channel.

Loudspeakers

We stock Martin Audio speakers (as well as cables and Proel or K&M stands) to meet most live applications.

There are no "hidden" extras. However, please bear in mind that when you are hiring individual items there are no "free bonus" extras either. If you want a speaker, hire a speaker. If you want a cable, hire a cable. If you want a speaker and a cable, you will need to hire both.

In addition to terms that apply to manned hire, the following conditions apply to dry hire:

1.  We check the condition and operation of all items before they leave us. We recommend that you check them yourself before you accept delivery. On accepting delivery or collecting equipment from us you agree that an item is in good condition and fully operational unless written notice of any marks or defects is provided.

2.  A hirer is liable to us for the whole cost of any loss of or damage to equipment, however this is caused. Where an item cannot be repaired or replaced before we need to use it again, the cost of damage or loss will include our own hire of a temporary replacement.

3.  Damage to cases or containers will be included in the cost of repair or replacement.

4.  A deposit (of an amount wholly at our discretion, but usually equal to typical repair costs) will usually be required before an item is collected from us or delivered to you.

5.  Your deposit does not cover all potential loss or damage. Where the cost of repair or replacement exceeds the amount of any deposit paid, we will require a further payment of the value of the difference. Where the amount of a deposit exceeds the cost of any repair or replacement, any remaining balance will be refunded to you after a repair has been completed or replacement obtained.

6.  All equipment is used at the hirer's risk. We do not accept liability for any costs or claims arising from a hirer's use of our equipment. Having taken delivery of an item, a hirer accepts responsibility for its functional and electrical safety, and for ensuring it is used correctly.

7.  If we haven't met you before, we will need proof of your identity and address.

8.  We do not hire to minors.

Although most equipment will be supplied in a flightcase, cases do not make equipment immune to handling damage. All equipment should be handled carefully, whether or not it is in a case.

All electrical equipment can be damaged by overheating, moisture, or incorrect power supplies. Also, equipment with cooling fans (e.g. mixers, power amplifiers) can be damaged by intake of dust or dirt through the fan intake. All equipment should only be used in a clean, dry, well ventilated place, using only safe 240V A.C. power sources.

Speakers can be damaged by amplifier clipping (irrespective of amplifier power), or by having excessive power applied to them. Amplifiers can be damaged by overloading. Make sure what you hire will be adequate for the purpose, especially if you need to hire ours because you have just cooked yours. It is cheaper to hire a bigger system than to replace a smaller one.

Where appropriate, we recommend that you read any relevant instruction manual (manuals for most of the equipment we use can be obtained FOC from manufacturers' websites), and follow instructions carefully. DO NOT IGNORE WARNINGS, REMOVE COVERS, OR DISABLE SAFETY FEATURES.

We can't often afford to replace expensive items at short notice. If you can't afford to replace them either, obtain insurance before you hire equipment.
